My partner Melanie (@travelingcowgirl) and I had a great swap! This is the second #ccbeautyswap I have participated in and I AM IN LOVE! Before this, I really never bought anything fancy or thought about what products I liked or disliked. For example...the basics from Walmart with the basic applicator that breaks after 3 uses or the $1 Wet n Wild mascara! By the time I really started liking something, it would be discontinued or I couldn't find it anymore! I am borderline obsessed with Ulta right now and not afraid to admit it! ;)
Melanie and I talked beforehand about things we both wanted to stay away from ("moisturizing" face masks that make your face bright red and feel like sandpaper!). I had a lot of fun shopping for her!
So here are my goodies from Melanie....
1. The Detangler brush! I'm pretty excited to use this on my 5 year old daughter. She is a cry baby when it comes to having her hair brushed!
2. It's a 10 Miracle Leave In spray. I've heard this is pretty good stuff and this is the first time I've tried it. I really like it!! I have issues with static when I straighten my hair and have used several heat guards and things. I don't use it everyday, but I will definitely be buying more!
3. Sephora Eye Trio! I have eyeshadow hoarding tendencies! I love this. I typically buy a trio pack or multiples and then oh use one or two shades! This has a slight shimmer to it and is SO smooth! I've never shopped at Sephora, but I may start!
4. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. I wear about three things most of the time - eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara. No foundation or anything and the occasional under eye cream to disguise the dark circles. When it comes to eyeliner I'm fairly picky. I use Cover Girl perfect point religiously and often buy 2 at a time! I'm venturing out and this product is going to help me do that. If I said I didn't waste a lot of eyeliner, I would be lying. I do because typically I can make it more precise by cleaning it up with a q-tip. This product leaves little room for error...I used it the other day and didn't realize it was more like liquid than solid! It was a fail, but I'm going to keep practicing!
5. Ulta Plush Drama mascara! Unlike my eyeliner picky ways, mascara is the opposite! I've tried a million kinds. I recently (thanks to my last swap partner Tori @h3faulkner) found a new obsession with Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes!!! Aaaahhhh! It's wonderful! My last trip to Ulta resulted in a free sample of some cashy mascara that I cannot wait to try. Long story short, I cannot wait to try this because I've always been pleased with the Ulta brand!
That's a wrap and I am so glad I started doing this! It has really opened my eyes to different beauty tips/tricks....i.e. New found love for iT brushes and eyeshadow primer!!!!
Can't wait to swap again soon. To my next partner, I've had two BA partners so far so good luck!
